    If it makes you feel better when I was a kid browsing shitty places (i.e. chans) on the internet my friends and I made plenty of terrible "jokes" about shit like that and we all just outgrew it

      I was there too.

      It's still not a good thing to count on the exceptions or "growing out of it." I'd rather nazi hellholes didn't exist at all, or at least weren't so easily available.

        No it's not a good thing we were exposed to it either, I agree. I'm just saying don't let it taint your hope for the kids too much, most of em will just get past it if a bit more jaded than they should be

          I've had to banish racist, homophobic, transphobic, and even ableist terminology and beliefs from myself over time.

          We are not immune to propaganda, no matter how "funny" it was when we received it.

          I’m just saying don’t let it taint your hope for the kids too much

          I try not to, though I do try to encourage them to consider that the girls in their class are fellow human beings, to mixed results.
