I think the only scene that made sense involving sexual violence was in the sopranos. It served to demonstrate whether the only good character, the victim, should use her mob connection to exact revenge on her rapist. It wasn’t an easy watch but it was at least used to put yourself in her shoes of the decision to kill the rapist or not.
