    I saw this stat earlier:

    In 2021, [metformin, the main treatment drug for type 2 diabetes] was the second most commonly prescribed medication in the United States, with more than 91 million prescriptions.

    the entire US population is 330 million.

        It's commonly prescribed as a preventative as well, like if you're genetically predisposed. I technically have a prescription for it, just haven't used it in awhile because it's more prophylactic than anything to do with my actual blood sugar.

        It's one of those well understood drugs that is easy to get and doesn't have a lot of negatives but the positives are huge if you have risk factors

    I hope there are medical breakthroughs on T2 diabetes in my lifetime. I have seen so many people suffer from it. I wish these Chinese scientists success in their endeavors.
