My aunt and uncle cut off contact with me when, after he shared one of those memes that's like "kids these days don't get their asses whupped enough", I asked him if he beat his own kids. He was appalled at the implication and blocked me after getting my aunt to also yell at me. The double standard never once crossed his mind. Truly a towering intellect.

...school corporal punishment is still legal in some states? What the fuck?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/School_corporal_punishment_in_the_United_States

Wow, what an entirely unsurprising map.

Separately, I was vaguely aware that private corporal punishment is still allowed in some places, but holy shit, I didn't realize it's legal in all but two states: Iowa and New Jersey, the latter since 1867 which is pretty wild. Wonder what the story is there.

Teachers shouldn't be able to hit any kids. Unless it's high school and they're still being a little shit. If you're 17-18 your teacher should be able to challenge you to one on one combat (but not vice versa, students can't challenge teachers)

If another student consents they can also choose a champion amongst their student body because some teachers are too old to win.

    Republican lawmakers read Bible verses

If God existed, it would be necessary to abolish him

Just insane that these people were allowed to crawl back to power after the civil war. I guess that explains west Germany.
