Not sure about the MIC not morphing 9/11 and the Global War on Terror shit into an excuse to launch preemptive attacks on anyone that British Petroleum doesn't like. Operation: Desert Fox was indicative that the defense contractors pretty much had a lock on foreign policy for any reason they could drum up, and I doubt that Dole's cabinet would have contained any fewer careerist warhawk ghouls (a la Rumsfeld) than Bush's.
