I like how this one presupposes that eating bugs is good and necessary: https://www.npr.org/sections/thesalt/2019/01/10/677826823/should-hyping-edible-bugs-focus-on-the-experience-instead-of-the-environment
Eating bugs is good (at least compared to cows and pigs). This is my agenda. I think it's ridiculous that eating bugs is somehow more dystopian than shredding chicks.
It’s because rich people are advocating for it and you know they won’t be eating it. It IS dystopian because they have 0 plans on changing the status quo, just yours. Fascists just think it’s Jews and communists at the WEF and not ivy league bankers and “economists”. Also, right now in western countries, it’s mostly psychopathic bazingas who want “efficient” food like soylent where you can quickly consume nutrients and get back to work, and not an actual meal. Is there anything more dystopian than sipping some roach juice or cricket bar for 30 seconds and going back to hauling amazon boxes for another 8 hours?
You want me to eat the bug? Fine. But Jeff Bezos better be eating Wagyu cockroach too.
You can't really rationalize it, most people (myself included) dislike the concept because bugs are fucking gross. If I wouldn't touch it with my hand while it's alive I wouldn't want to eat it. And yes I know this is kinda childish.
NPR has a ton of articles advocating eating bugs but are :shocked-pikachu: when people think there's an agenda to push eating bugs.

I feel that way too, but if someone made something out of crickets that didn't look like it was made from crickets I would totally eat it.
