i woke up to Ana melting down at the idea of being lumped in with nonbinary people and trans men but she's definitely not transphobic, she swears (as she likes tweets implying that it's bad to call cis women cis and calling the modern trans movement nothing but virtue signaling)

i'm definitely open to some level of criticism based around the idea that being called a birthing person makes her feel like womanhood is being reduced to being a baby factory but the fact that she keeps doubling down and using right wing talking points while doing so makes me think she's a bigot and is further proof that being a progressive means nothing.

Absolutely the right take. Nobody would be mad at Ana for saying

"haha hey guys, 'birthing person' is important in legal and medical contexts when you are speaking about a group of people and don't want to exclude NBs and trans men, but you're not supposed to just CALL me a birthing person day to day 😂"

We're mad because she has been doing just a standard reactionary rant, so much so it's getting shared by right wingers. Absolutely stupid.

the bail reform thing relates to her hating homeless people but yeah, she just randomly decided that if you use term birthing person that you hate cis people and she needed to take a brave stand at this time in history where trans people are just getting more and more rights every day.

Her hatred of homeless goes back at least 10 years I can remember. She's fully invested in property = personal wealth. And homeless people make line go down on property chart.

    She's disgusting.

I think the last time i heard about her was her saying something horrific about homeless people.

It's her shtick. I haven't listened to TYT in probably 5 years and I distinctly remember the last thing she was ranting about was how unfair it was to be a new homeowner.

Her "faaack you" performance to Aaron Mate was the last straw with Ana for me. Aaron isn't above criticism, but her silly response to his burn on Cenk's ridiculous tweet just put her ego on display in such a way that it became impossible not to see in everything she does. She also uses her friendship with Michael Brooks in the same way that white guys use their 'black friend' as proof that they aren't racist.

Yeah and the funny thing is Michael was extremely attuned to the effect of a person's public comments and would have very little patience for these kind of nitpicking rants in the context of a wider and very dangerous cultural phenomenon.

After Michael's death, i feel like a lot of left media personalities in his orbit got immediately worse because there was no one to keep them remotely honest. Kind of like how after Bernie's campaign ended a lot of people in his orbit cashed in on some grift immediately, like Nina Turner's Goldman Sachs sponsored podcast. Brianna Joy Grey gets bonus points for being in both camps and going hyper grift lol

YES, I have noticed exactly the same thing. As soon as he died I wondered if that would start to show itself and it totally has. And yeah it's a good comparison to the Bernie campaign dissolving, it started to create infighting in the same way just on a smaller scale.

The funny thing is out of everyone in his orbit, Michael's two crewmates on his show don't use his name that way, and yet they are following in his footsteps quite a bit. Nobody has that charisma though, nobody.

Kind of like how after Bernie’s (second) campaign ended a lot of people in his orbit cashed in on some grift immediately,

The Young Turks created the playbook for grifting off a Bernie campaign to relevance during his first run.

So frustrating, I just noticed she was STILL going on about it yesterday, long after I'm sure no less than 10 close associates probably approached her in private like "whoa, okay I think you should stop"

Absolute trash. I haven't listed to that show in many years now because it didn't shift left with me and it was honestly just really repetitive and lacking in depth of critique. Ana was the one who seemed to be exploring marxist ideas a little deeper and approaching that role within her network, so I respected her but I'm absolutely fuckin done. What the fuck.

Seriously how many people have been telling her that this weird niche critique of awkward very slightly dehumanizing, and very rare, language is just absolutely eclipsed by the GENOCIDE THAT IS RAMPING UP RIGHT NOW.

Like oh I'm so sorry Ana that the term "birthing person" which is used in a legalistic context to avoid statutorily discriminating against trans people was picked up and used in the wrong context by some annoying fucking California liberal friend of yours trying to sound enlightened.

SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP
