Something about knowing that people out there find this kind of content compelling is so depressing it feels me with utter dread. Like to add insult to injury of course the person reacting to the video essay is gonna be constantly pausing throughout it so it should take at LEAST twice as long to finish the video.

So… if someone is reacting to THAT reaction it’s gonna take like 8 hours to get to the end of the video like jesus christ WHAT on earth are you people doing.

Yeah, occasionally I remember that I used to religiously watch, like, The Serfs or whoever reacting to some dumb bullshit Tim Pool was saying and I uncontrollably cringe. Just making your mental health worse and learning nothing lmao

Honestly, a significant portion of online political posting is just "look at this thing this random person said and get real mad about it and then do nothing" and I think it drives people crazy.

That certainly happens on here but it's not as bad as, say, twitter. I can't tell you how many times i've followed an account with good takes and they just spend 90% of their time having quote tweet arguments with their reactionary du jour

Kind of highlights why so many religions have terrible punishments for gossip. They foresaw twitter but failed to avert it.
