said his role has helped him prepare for being in on the frontline

What's he going to do, ban Russia from Ukraine? Delete incoming artillery fire?

This is is going to be the rudest awakening since our vets discovered Russia isn't sending unarmed civilians.

Well current government of russian federation is trying to whitewash the facts and alter history history as always. I mean they even have their own name for the war - The “great patriotic war” to hide the fact they’ve been allies with Hitler between 1939 and 1941, so I think it’s quite important to remind them of that. Just look at r/pikabu dweebs downvoting away at a simple historical truth.

    And

There are documented instances of soviet squads dressed as Ukrainian freedom fighters during WWII committing warcrimes against civilian population, Poles and Jews to rob them of support from the populace. Good thing about these kind of affairs is that if they get captured they don't get the benefits of Geneva convention.

Please replace the relatively sane soldiers with these guys

Liberals of all kinds, even those who are not well-read, believe that Nazism and communism are the same.

I love this quote. What’s even worse though is being technically literate but still so fervently anti-communist that you refuse to even look at Marxist texts. Or, if you do look at them, they just look like gibberish. This is what happened to me when I attempted to read The Communist Manifesto and Capital as a liberal teenager. I got nowhere.

Ehh you usually do, the much better arguments are:

            1. A ton of other countries had non-aggression pacts with the Nazis
            2. The Soviets signed theirs after Britain and France shot down an anti-Nazi pact (which would be an example of a pact between allies)
            3. Your allies don't launch a genocidal invasion of you

Not to actually The Soviets and Britain + France were not actual political allies, only really allies in that they eventually fought the same country for a very brief period of time. In the case of France they were never at war with the Nazis simultaneously as the Soviets

Always ask them if they know what is a Czechoslovakia, what happened to it in 1938 and who were the people shaking hands nodding in agreement and then finally happily cheering after it happened.

Meanwhile Ukrainian Father of the Nation was not only allied to the Nazis, he helped them with the Holocaust and got sent to a concentration camp as a reward.

Because Ukrainians use bomb dropping drones so they can post it online, Russia used fpv drones that just fly towards you and kill you.

Ukraine has recently stepped up its efforts to replenish soldiers. It lowered the conscription age from 27 to 25

They aren't drafting people under 25?? Most serious war effort

Ukraine's parliament also passed a bill earlier this month that would allow the country's military to recruit prisoners to fight.

    "In bad country..."

In August, Zelenskyy fired all of Ukraine's military recruitment chiefs after an investigation revealed they were accepting up to $10,000 in bribes to help people avoid being drafted.

I'm sure there's some level of corruption in any conscription process, but this seems unusual.

I remember near the begining of the war, Redditors were trying to mock Wagner for all being recruited from prisoners.

The 25+ conscription age is unusual. Isn't it the opposite in most places? You want your soldiers young, dumb, and full of cum as the saying goes. If I'd been conscripted in my early 20s I'd probably have gone along with it as I was an uncritical idiot. It was only after age 25 that I would have probably abandoned my life and gtfo instead of dying in a ditch for some nationalist myth.

The average age of a us infantryman in ww2 was 26 I believe. In Vietnam it was 19 and was kinda noted for being too young. Also in Napoleons grand army the conscription age was 20-25 so long as you weren’t married. Then when you consider special forces guys are all pretty much early to mid 30’s you kinda realize 18-20 year olds in the military are pretty much cannon fodder. A military needs “young” but capable (read life experience) to actually be effective. For example Russia recently upped their minimum age to 21 for that reason pretty much. Especially now that we are definitely in an age where technology is playing a major role in combat.

        @420blazeit69@hexbear.net

Ukraine does not have that many men between 18 and 25.

        Show

        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Ukraine_population_pyramid_2024_UN.png

Look at the gigantic dip near the bottom.

Conscripting men between 18 and 25 would not provide many men, while completely destroying that already tiny generation.

Interesting. I wonder if they thought that through -- "this war will destroy a generation" has rarely stopped countries from fighting wars.
