Paul never wanted to be worshipped, it just sort of happened. The sequel books go more into how he feels about the jihad that started because of him and the overall consequences. we definitely need the next two books to get the full effect of the story. Book 4 is pretty much it's own book, then book 5 and 6 are tied together.

this. the second and third books are absolutely necessary to understand the point of paul and the whole first book. thats sort of what makes me worried about the second part of the movie here, because theres no way we're getting a part 3 or something lol

based on the success of this first book/movie(s) i think there is a good chance we get books 2 and 3 in one movie. Maybe its a two parter as well. They could just end it with Paul being victorious and never getting into the actual philosophy because that makes people think too much.

i guess i have too little faith in americans to believe in anything other than a two-parter with all the philosophy removed.

We're getting the rest of book 1 and all of book 2 in this movie.

Did some research and I believe I have been lied to some IRL dune fans.

“If things go well with Part Two, I could foresee the idea of maybe doing … Dune Messiah. That would make sense to me,” Villeneuve says when asked about his career plans.

Why wouldn't they keep going and squeeze every dollar they can out of the series, as long as it keeps making money
