      how are you supposed to jog I always feel like I'm doing it wrong and get discouraged. Like how fast are you supposed to go? walks are cool tho

          I am a fairly experienced distance runner, and much of what you say is legitimate. Besides that, the striking of the foot is also important as well. Preferably, striking in the mid-foot not only ensures the preservation of balance, but also helps to lengthen your stride without overextending (although preferences tend to vary, but the forefront is more so for sprinting while the heel can lead to shin strains if overdone). Otherwise, it's never too late to start running, especially if done at your own pace. Once you know where to start, the progress can only go up with patience and dedication.

        You're gonna do way better going nice and slow than trying to have any sort of pace. Even if you feel like you're barely going faster than walking at first (and don't feel bad about having walk breaks if you can't keep running the whole time). You'll do way better (and hate it way less) if you're doing comfortable easy runs more frequently and increasing the distance slowly and steadily, rather than trying for anything heroic. You'll also injure yourself way less. The problem with running is that the crappy bits are front-loaded, but it will get easier surprisingly quickly if you stick with it.

        maybe this is bad advice but the thing i love about running is you can just do it. there's so little you need to go for a run, good shoes, I'd recommend some nice shorts but thats it. As long as you're out there enjoying yourself its very hard to fuck up
