"Politically correct" was, afaik, the GOP stealing a concept from academia and then misusing it in bad faith. They just lobbed it at everyone who was opposed to torturemurdering black children. Same thing with "bleeding heart", Woke, Critical race theory, and I'm sure many others I have forgotten due to the brain abraiding side effects of AMerican politics.

AFAIK it was a sardonic left-punching thing left-libs were doing to begin with, like a bunch of socdems and trots chortling about things not being "politically correct" to mock MLs and maoists. I can only imagine it as the 80s equivalent of redditors going "I'm as left as they come and I'll get *starts giggling* banned for this, but China bad tinyman square 1984 -700 social credit! *bursts out laughing*" and then being upvoted by CIA bots and given awards.
Pretty much all right-winger complaints about "this generation" have been complaints about ideas that have existed (and been complained about) for many decades, if not centuries or even millenia. PC culture, cancel culture, feminism, homosexuality, trans people, you can name a behaviour as old as humanity and they'll still claim it's a radical new agenda.
I'm fairly sure the "war on Christmas" will be a headline again in 5-10 years.
The only solution is to launch an enveloping counter attack and decisively defeat the forces of Christmas on the battlefield. After that we will have the strategic initiative.
There was a political correctness fad in the mid 1990s, then it started up again in 2015 or so

DEI is the newest one after CRT went out of fashion.

Isn't it a headline every year for the last 20 years now? Lmao they still whine about it on FOX I'm pretty sure
Again, 20 years is an underestimation, it was a complaint under another name back in the 80s and long before.
True enough i guess
Political correctness fad is one way to describe a society briefly not tolerating outright bigotry.
Fortunately for bigots most people get burnt out on trying to not be bigots for more than about 5 minutes so it ebbs and flows.
