They are in a rooom with their signing pens. Biden looks like death warmed over. They sign the first part - repealing Obamacare. But when the debt limit is about to be signed - the GOP fucks him and says "You didn't give us enough cuts. Why do you hate America?"
The GOP then goes into the hallway to give a planned 30 minute meeting with the media that they say shows how anti-American Biden and the democrats are. And the US defaults.
If they sell the gold, I can only imagine how funny the reaction from the usual gold-standard-weirdoes will be.
