Yup, I always said that #metoo would be allowed to run until it threatened the power establishment in DC. Tara Reade, along with the Biden laptop, could have really turned the election to Trump. Both had to be discredited, and they were. Operation success.

Only country to go to if you want:

To not get extradited back to the US

Won't have police willing to kidnap you on behalf of the US

      High standard of living

      Surrounded by white people

Will actually take you in and let you stay

I'm mostly going by the observation that white Americans with money in the past few decades really only defect to Russia, never Iran, Hong Kong/Macau, Vietnam

I'm sure many of those countries would love to take in some of the past American defectors for political gain or just to have their money pumped into their economy like a normal American immigrant

As mentioned Snowden initially leaked from Hong Kong and only ran away after it became likely the HK government would arrest him.

People already forgetting about Assange already? Dude spent years in "asylum" inside the Ecuadorian embassy and he is still fucked.

People don't flee to China because in the past it wasn't like China was an outright enemy of the US, if we are talking "decades" here. The current almost WW3 between China and US is something that started about 4 maybe 6 years ago not 20 or 30.

I have to wonder if Beijing would be willing to turn over a guy like Snowden in the modern day.

Snowden initially moved to Hong Kong, but didn't feel safe enough from the US to stay there IIRC.

I guess if you had to immigrate somewhere and it wasn't a country you fell in love with or really wanted to move to before, one where you look like the people around you would be preferable. Definitely not a deciding factor though

maybe she'd rather live in a country whose chief executive didn't rape her

oh, no worries. This sucks and I wish every liberal was forced to hear every think piece they've written about rape culture will watching videos of them forgiving rapists until they got the message.

Maybe she doesn't want to have anything to do with the next election, what is a better way to escape and forget than to literally move to another country.

I got that, but such a different country kind of threw me. Others have pointed out the extradition thing.

I can judge her for being a maupin supporter, but still support her move as an escape from the country run by her attacker.

I mean it's like how Putin is opposing US imperialism. At least part of him does care about Russia and want to protect it from america, but he also does horrible things like the attacks on gay people which I'm not gonna support. He's not as bad as the media makes him out to be but he isn't good.

Yeah exactly. He's not a communist, he's a dirt bag that happens to be fighting the us, so I can support and understand some of his actions
