Nah that's just called the Uvalde Protocol
Uvalde Protocol
I thought that's was an in-house Democratic party term.
The students realized it was fake only after noticing that the cops in the room had done nothing to stop the pretend shooter, they said.
smh dumb students, that just makes it more real.
Heh, a similar but worse thing happened at the school district I worked in. The principal of a middle school arranged for his friend, a plainclothes officer to barge into a in-session teacher's classroom demanding to know where [student name] is. Can't remember if he had a gun, but I think he did. Class of middle schoolers terrified. The only reason anybody even heard about it is because the teacher, who was not informed beforehand, complained at the district council meeting. Nothing came of it.
I was expecting a repeat of this extremely funny clip where the cop shoots himself immediately after saying he's the only one in the room professional enough to carry a gun
From what I hear, that sort of thing is surprisingly common in people who are severely injured. Sometimes your body gets so fucked up that your brain can not grapple with what just happened.
Yeah, I mean obviously shot in the leg is worse, but when I broke my collarbone I was sort of like...
'Ah. Shit. That's weird. Hm. That doesn't feel right. Nope. That feels wrong. That is definitely not good. That doesn't feel right at all. I should go to hospital. Yes. Better book a taxi then. Fuck sake.'
It was weird. Didn't really hurt til I was in the hospital waiting room. It just felt profusely wrong. I felt so mortal.
I tried to pick up a 60 pound weight moments after breaking my arm and was very confused when it didn't work
seriously one of these young people could've done something rational as well
Here's a thread started by Popehat who - as far as I know - is a super-lib.
Wait, you’re telling me a curriculum designed by violent entitled sociopaths might be upsetting?

At first I was surprised by the "entitled sociopaths" quip but it's for engagement and likes. Libs have a more strident tone at Bluesky but it's pretend. I'm sure if I went back a few years I could find him ranting what a terrible idea defunding the police was. And he's a lawyer so you can imagine that thread is has shitty lib (legalistic) comments.
That school and police department is so getting sued into oblivion and I'm 100% here for it.
Hahaha it's like they're trying to make generations of people with zero compunction about sitting back and letting them die in any scenario
In its statement, the Burlington Police Department said school staff approved the demonstration’s content ahead of time and agreed to let parents and students know. The simulation would involve “fake firearms in a mock shooting,” the department said it wrote to school staff on May 23. “Do you think that sort of incident would be ok for your group of students? It is about as real life as you can get, and is certainly exactly the sort of thing we deal with most frequently.”
“I think these students will be fine with this simulation,” school staff responded, according to the police statement. “We will give a heads up to parents and students.”
