NOOOOOO please don't be true

I was just thinking about how Zelda is the one Nintendo franchise that could actually make for a good animated movie and how bad of an idea it would be to let Illumination make it.

Maybe Im just bitter you didn't like ALBW's item buying mechanic but that was a mechanical formula change you said you didnt like. And you also dont like the BOTW style's mechanical changes so I figured you were a fan of the traditional, OOT or maybe LTTP style dungeon/key item formula.

That was a one-off one-time minor thing that annoyed me because it changed the focus too much for my preferences. Not all changes are to my liking, yes, guilty as charged. I just typically enjoy, in Zelda or otherwise, adventuring to find the item I need instead of grinding to buy it.

Yes, both things can be true: I found BOTW's "Hyrule got reset again and Link has amnesia again and Zelda is in trouble again" plot repetitive and boring and weapons breaking simply isn't fun for me.

To give an example of a non-Zelda version of my stance on bad changes and plot repetition/recycling, Star Fox Zero (while it had a great opening cutscene that should have been its own show) recycled Star Fox 64 almost beat by beat for its plot, undid everything that happened in Star Fox after 64, and introduced an unpleasant and obnoxious change in its "must use the silly controller screen" targeting system.

Nintendo at a story level seems to prefer resets/reboots over letting a story continue with lasting changes that stick, and that's dull to me. Metroid was mostly spared, even if it involves contrived reasons for Samus to have to power up her suit all over again.

I edited my comment, but if you want to see a brief clip of an amazing fan movie series about Star Fox that rants about Zero's controls, there it is.
