it's not material conditions, don't be silly.... every single thing that's wrong is Russia's fault.

This was the same person who said that Russian soldiers had never seen paved roads or coffee machine in gas stations before.

The LL.M thing is new though.

I'm sure destroying Russia won't just cause another migrant crisis that'll further empower the far right. That's never happened with the other countries we've destroyed.

The reason the far right is making gains in Europe is because the proxy war with Russia is creating the material conditions for fascism. Therefore, if they magically "obliterate" the Russian military the conditions creating fascism would disappear. So, he's technically right, except he hasn't actually spent time thinking about how to defeat the Russian military. He probably doesn't actually understand it would require a nuclear war and thinks it could be easily done because they're Asiatic and backwards i.e. "orcs"

Yep, there has been a crazy amount of fearmongering and talk about how Europe must prioritise military spending and consequently deprioritise living conditions, climate goals and personal freedoms. People for some reason believing that quick fuels support for the right.

even if he could bloodlessly snap away all of Russia's military assets, Europe's far right would still be there. the conditions already existed and already strengthened them. and 99% of the conditions are just fear of immigrants, which would increase when Russian citizens flees westward

Fear of immigrants almost always comes materially from economic forces. They're not just becoming spontaneously more racist.

I think you're underestimating how much of the rise of the far right is being caused by the loss of Russian oil and gas and grain and even tourism. The sanctions put pressure on prices and employment all across the European economy; cutting off their nose to spite their face. The conditions are created by the fear of competition for limited energy and resources, and conquering Russia would end the sanctions and open up their defeated neighbor for superexploitation and the extraction of superprofits.

It's all a fantasy, of course. Russia will not become an imperial conquest that they can loot to alleviate poor economic conditions.

Liberals on one hand: all the far right parties in Europe are full of Russian and Chinese spies!

Liberals on the other hand: The anti-war leftists are licking Putin's boots!

Liberals: The moderate solution is nuclear war!

the delusional libs on r/france are convinced that with the RN in power they would 1) actually stop supporting the ukraine war (instead of pivoting to align with nato once in power) 2) that this would somehow lead to WW3 (sending french soldiers in ukraine though wouldn't?)
