The problem is these people have no plan to actually achieve any of these things and will explain away why they didn't happen in six months. Rinse, repeat.

"We can't push for reforms that would eliminate minority Republican rule because we need to win some of those Republicans in 2020" or some shit like that.

Politics has turned into celebrity worship, the 'grief' over RBG, Bush's image rehab, Obama worship, Biden memes are all evidence of this. Libs say they want those things but won't hold their celebrity politicians accountable when those things don't happen.

Libs are institutionalists. They will always be played by conservatives and elected Dems. They have to believe in the holy power of institutions - it's their religion. Ivy League schools are amazing, smart people go to Ivy League schools, and people that go to Ivy League schools are on the supreme court. They explain their own privilege as a result of a meritocracy via higher education. If they start questioning institutions then the entire meritocracy idea falls apart.

Conservatives replaced God with Capitalism. Libs replaced God with meritocracy bases on higher education. How many libs do you know that say "If only Republicans were better educated?"

To serious post for a second, it's reifying the fundamental Liberal belief that process supersedes all other considerations in politics. What matters most is the "shape of our democracy", i.e. how well our institutions function, because the liberal government running well inherently produces good results. Everything that people actually need, healthcare, racial justice, economic security, etc., falls into the "every other issue" camp, the things that Pete agrees is good, but thinks only comes (and will inevitably come) from having a fine tuned, well lubed, calibrated, and optimized liberal democracy.

      THIS. CHANGES. EVERYTHING.

Things continue to get worse at the exact same rate they did before

      Ah well, nevertheless,

My favorite “libs overreacting” moment was the chud and lib gamers uniting to boycott Blizzard due to the way they treated one of their E-Sports player and casters.

These fellas screamed for weeks on end about Blizzard bad, China bad, and FREE HONG KONG. They were posting screenshots of deleting their accounts permanently, unsubscribing from World of Warcraft and just doing other monotonous things that didn’t mean jack shit.

Meanwhile the actual player that was banned from tournaments went back to playing the game the next day lmao.

That’s what I initially thought until I checked their post history, and their most active communities were politics and neoliberal and their comments were just mundane lib shit.

I just took a closer look and their other active subs were chapo, S4P, and Pete Buttigieg’s sub. They have some comments shitting on Biden but they’ve gotten on board because he’s “adopted Bernies policies,” and there’s a lot of Pete posting. I think they’re just a confused lib who doesn’t have a coherent ideology.

Well, my personal politics are rooted in protecting and securing individual freedoms compatible with the common good and extensive taxation on the wealthy to fund expansive, redistributive social programs. That's pretty leftist right?

That would be a good bit on this site, but there I'm sure it's completely sincere.

Based on their post history, it seems to be unironic. Either that or they’re very committed to the bit.

      Here’s another standout.
