It's a big place, Cherokee still has a big reservation and as long as you stay in the Buncombe area, there's enough comrades to hold off the tide of racists that live outside the city limits. So far we've had thousands turn out for BLM and only a couple dozen counter protestors that all got scared when we showed up with guns lol.
People definitely assign a lot of racism to us down here, but it's really not the case for the most part. Asheville just voted for reparations for black folks displaced by gentrification, it's really watered down, but shows where the popular opinion lies here.
Don't get me wrong, we still have a lot of reactionary presence in the suburbs and farmlands, but they aren't nearly as active and vocal as the leftist working class in the service industry.
