Texts for vampire imperialism?
Removed by modI’m running a club for a bunch of 12-14 year olds where I commiepill them and also teach about spooky monsters, tomorrows is about imperialism and so i thought the vampire would be a good monster but i’m having trouble finding texts that actually make the connection, anyone have anything? they’re young but super smart so don’t worry about it being too heady also sorry if this is the wrong comm
Not appropriate for a 12 year old, but the Tethered in Us are a very clear allegory to imperialism to me. The most common interpretation I heard when that movie came out was that each characters’ Tethered represented repressed aspects of themselves, which is clearly true. But in a literal sense, they are people who have suffered as a direct result of the main characters’ comfortable lives. Their comfort and wealth is enabled by the existence of The Tethered.
