I think woke was a cool word with important meaning for a while, and it has some great historical context behind it that made it work. Reactionary media did what they always do though and I think it's safe to say the word has completely lost all meaning outside of those aforementioned historical contexts. These days everything is "woke" and the new reactionary concept of "woke" is so far from what woke actually means as to render the term useless.

"Ruling class" or "bourgeoisie", except they will use it to label anyone they dislike, such as LGBT+, minorities and the poor.
The only reason I think bourgeoise has survived for so long, and will continue to survive, is because nobody can spell it. And if you don't know the term, you wouldn't know how to say it by reading it on paper either.
So maybe the takeaway is that we need to use big hard to pronounce words so the reactionaries can't steal them from us
