Super cool how in America, parents paying strangers to kidnap and torture their own children is a multi-billion dollar industry
whoa what's the tl;dr of this? I don't have the attention span for podcasts but that sounds like a horrifying thing i should know more about
Paris Hilton was sent to a camp for troubled teens which is basically a legalized torture industry. Also Brace was sent to one when he was a kid and became the first kid to escape it.
Also a lot of the people Brace met at that camp are dead now apparently, either due to an OD or suicide. And him getting sent there lead him to his heroin addiction. Incredibly fucked up. His behavioural problems as a kid were relatively mild, not that worse behaviour justifies it, but this is the extreme length his parents went through just because he wasn't the ideal child.
oh is that the Elan School stuff people were talking about the other day? yeah, those are super fucked up. I remember reading about one kinda near where I grew up - the Dozier School - that even had some students killed and covertly buried on the grounds. (found a link)
Still don't understand how any parent on Earth could do that to their own child.
Brace said the camps are sold as being the only thing standing between their child and certain death. They guilt the parents by making them believe their child will die/become homeless/od unless they go to camp
If you like documentaries, the recent Paris Hilton one covers her PTSD from these schools.
Most celebs are just traumatized people who basically use their wealth to hide from their trauma.
Considering what she went through and is still going through, she probably at least has sympathy for more social democratic policies.
That sucks booty, can I kill the people in charge of her conservatorship instead
You dont have to kill anyone if you dont want to. Its just helpful to incite others to revolution.
If she wants to be sympathetic she can become a class traitor, until then she's still bougie scum to me.
