I know it is nothing new, but I still can't understand how liberals aren't in crippling cognitive dissonance after they were going on about how COVID is a threat and it is completely disqualifying of Trump that he downplays it and doesn't take it seriously. But Biden comes in and is a good and great leader for just saying "ignore the science and deaths, COVID is over, because I don't want to deal with it." And now Marianne is the only one talking sense somehow.

Liberals just wanted a good ol' democrat in the White House to give them permission to take their mask off, and most liberals never looked back once vaccines were rolled out. Especially once the CDC said vaccinated people no longer needed to mask, and then Biden declared independence from COVID on July 4, 2021, right before Delta hit.

Even most leftists have stopped masking at this point. The fact that unions and leftist orgs aren't universally advocating for COVID protections in the workplace is a damn shame and also very myopic.

I hate that this is the so-called extreme position to have on treating covid.

If it were me, the country would be locked down, the police and military would be mobilized to help deliver goods to people who need it medical supplies food etc and make sure no one is breaking lockdown. There would be new hospitals built, new medical staff offered free training and hazard pay, and the nationalization of essential services, the seizing of billionaires' extra fuck you money if funding runs low. Condemnation of countries that don't do the same as the genocidal ghouls they are. Aid for countries that want to but are too fucked from exploitation.

The extreme COVID position is letting it rip, killing and disabling countless millions of people, normalizing that mass death and suffering, and then gaslighting and pathologizing anyone who still acknowledges the ongoing dangers of COVID and still takes precautions.

The thing is, if that were done from February to May of 2020, then the whole pandemic would have been stymied right there. It would have saved many more lives and been exponentially less costly.

Sure would’ve. But we’re not there anymore, and that doesn’t mean it should be ignored, it just means it’s a lot more expensive.

I want someone to take over and act like covid appeared today, and be rightly horrified. Act like we just discovered it and we’re not gonna rest until it’s joined smallpox

The fact masks aren't mandated in healthcare settings anymore is just the most wildly nonsensical thing ever. Even if covid had never existed, having people enter unprotected into settings where there are a lot of sick people is just a very not good idea

despite my christman bashing earlier i appreciate his references to Tammany Hall. you don't have your vote bought by democrats for monopoly money. u need to be the vote buyers and have all the christmas turkey-bought votes ready to walk from the democratic party and sink it etc so you have a gun to their head. if you're not strong enough to stand on your own. you don't just expend political energy to help your opponents because "you don't have other options"

seems like that's a pipe dream to people rn therefore the harm reduction arguments

turns into this individualistic decision about where to put My Vote™️

Wait, I know we've got Biden, but who is the second literal insane older person? I thought that was RFK?

I will never understand how libs thought going to the optional vaccine over the mask mandate was going to lead to a better outcome. We could’ve kept the mask mandate for another full year, instead we have a good 1/3 of the country that now believes vaccines are murder.
