It doesn't have to be cheerful.
I like to listen to ambient industrial stuff. Puce Mary is really good, I recommend the Ghosts albums from Trent Reznor/NIN for a first dip into the genre.

This is my "it's gonna be okay" song, always calms me down
Ultra (1997) by Depeche Mode is my favorite album of all time. It's, after the first track, downtempo synthpop with some triphop influences. The circumstances of the creation of the album (the band members being in a really bad shape at the time from: drug abuse, heavy drinking and depression - but being made at a time where they were recovering from the worst of it) make it pretty uplifting to me, especially with the version also including the 1998 single "It's Only When I Lose Myself"
Disintegration (1989) by the Cure is atmospheric goth rock with songs that cross over to a hazy, dream-like pop. It's also considered by some to be among the best albums of all time.
Dreamland (1996) by Robert Miles is probably the best trance album of all time
The Turn of a Friendly Card (1980) by the Alan Parsons Project is a very good prog rock album, and one of my other favorites.
I've been posting stuff from (or the entirety of) these albums on c/music for months haha.
Reminds me of Boyd's Journey from the OST of Ravenous with Guy Pierce.
I've been listening to a lot of Lil Peep recently. Emo rap/cloud rap
I like the albums "LIL PEEP; PART ONE" and "crybaby"
Casiotone for the painfully Alone - Vs. Children
Radiohead - Amnesiac
Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works Vol 2
I was feeling really down yesterday and kept listening to “I Bet On Losing Dogs” - Mitski. Good song for wallowing in the emotions
