The only Arrowverse star that had a chance at pivoting to DCEU was Grant Gustin and unfortunately for him, Warner Bros refused to cut Ezra Miller for whatever reason (they're really hoping the DCU will work this uh..third time with a James Gunn Superman movie?)
I like James Gunn because i like the GOTG movies a lot but I dont think even he can make movies that will rub off the stink that "live Action DC Movie" has in the public conscience. His Superman movie will probably be good even but I think itll underperform because of the baggage. Which isn't even Gunn's fault but there's only so much you can do with a brand thats become poison.
Absolutely. I think Superman and Batman films will always draw a number of people - if only because there was a time when both were being spoonfed to the American public ad nauseam similar to the current capeshit fervor. Say what you want about DC - but at least they didn't force 4 Cavill Superman movies on us in 10 years ala the Reeves films from 78-87. I can only imagine Gunn's Superman will probably wind up more of like a quippier Man of Steel than anything else.
I will say that I trust Gunn to at least "get" Superman more that Man of Steel did and make sure he's an optimistic character and not Nolanify him. He's enough of a nerd and comics fan to actually understand what the point of the character is which Snyder never did. At this point, I can't ask for much more from a Superman movie.
Yeah I'd like to see a live-action Superman film in the spirit of Miracle Monday or Death of Superman but since this is supposed to be a reboot & origin story I'm imagining James Gunn's Smallville for 2 hours which isn't the worst thing in the world. (although he did say he was pulling inspiration from All Star so )
Sorry to be a nerd but Arrow wasnt part of the DCEU, the Arrowverse was its own thing that just ended. I mean I guess maybe he might have been cast as Arrow in a DC movie is what you're implying but? Yeah idk.
Also, based on overall quality, Arrow was the worst Arrowverse show. Yes, Seasons 1 and 2 were good, but the rest ranged from mediocre to some of the worst TV in history.

Even if the DCEU didn't flop, he wouldn't play Green Arrow, just as Grant Gustin didn't play the Flash.
Especially because in the Arrow TV show, he was just Bargain Bin Batman.
You're telling me there's a guy out there named "Grant Gustin"??
