“He wasn’t pro-segregation, he was anti-integration!” -Libs who somehow think this makes him a good person
I think what's lost in the discussion about Biden and school busing was how, at the time, busing was like the #1 issue for whites. Until school busing was implemented, white folks could pretty much live their lives without coming into contact with black people. Busing was a strong stand against that - it meant that (gasp) white children would grow up alongside black children. And that could lead to them dating and even getting MARRIED! White people freaked the fuck out and rioted. Whites get hyper defensive about their white suburban enclaves. It's why they just love licking that cop boot - cops are effectively the border police for white suburbs. And it's why if the BLM protests move out into the white suburbs, I think we will see a level of white reaction unlike what we have seen for decades.
At best, Biden rode that racism wave. At worst, he totally agreed with them and felt the same way.
“He’s better than Trump” So am I! Can I have an article written about me now?
This is the liberal election year two step, they insist that a compromise is necessary to win, you know “Biden’s not my first choice either but…” but once the primaries are over, not only does any discussion of left policy end, but suddenly the compromise guy is actually really good and cool!
