This is a parody sub designed to make fun of non-voting liberals who pretend to be leftists.

Truly the biggest politics understanders of the Lemmyverse.

      bigotry shouldn’t be too believable,

But it's ok to keep marginalized folk on the edge about what is ironic and what isn't.

As if ironic bigotry is ever funny anyway. It’s how many right wingers ease into full blown reaction. I think Elon Musk was like that at first? It’s like the equivalent of killing small animals being a warning sign of future violence against humans

incredible self-own posting a picture of a 1936 nazi saying “I’m changing the from the system from the inside”

yes, trying to change the system by voting is exactly like joining the nazi army, isn’treal was heavy supported by nazis to remove Jews from europe, and voting for biden to support isnotreal’s genocide of Palestinians makes you as bad as the actual nazis

and MindTraveller doubling down on a “joke” telling trans people to self-harm, but edited out hexbear this time

“an attack on biden is transphobia” is a galaxybrain take like equating anti-zionism with anti-semitism

Reminder from the mods: If I catch any of you saying trans people deserve to live, I'll call you a genocide supporter and ban you. Wanting to live is bourgeois liberal decadence. Don't you know Biden is supporting a genocide?

Surely this joke isn't allowed on that instance?

Ada wants to have a place for all trans people and has the nazi bar problem since she gives them leeway. That said, there is a sorta hexbear-light comm there as well, she’s open to communists.

With the latest lemmy, federation can be comm specific so smaller comms could be federated while shitholes like 196 and this one can be banned. And letting blahaj people have access to traaaaa over here can help people with brainworms.

Support for refederation is conditional on hexbear mods willingness to step in where blahaj mods won’t, so it would be more work and something to not consider if it would be too much of a mod burden.

It would be good to link a few comms ago show people actual trans liberation theory and lifeboat some users.

If the Nazis can hang with you, you're just a Nazi. That is the whole point of the Nazi bar thing. Again, the people who are defending her on here should self crit

and yeah, not fedding with a nazi bar is fine and status quo

but haven’t seen anyone say blahaj admin is good and call for a total refed

You can check out the last federation check in thread for some examples. I don't want to put anyone in particular on blast, because I think they're well-intentioned (just wrong)

Edit: Actually revisiting that thread, I don't see the examples I was thinking of. Hopefully you are correct and there are no Blahaj admin defenders on here

I know there are some in the community who haven't given up on wanting to try to fed with them, but as far as I'm concerned it's a fruitless effort. Ada has made it clear that she isn't willing to do anything to make her instance safer (like banning chasers) to protect our users from potential harassment, while at the same expecting that we make changes to accommodate her. She's also constantly been lying to her community about why we defederated them. Trying to work things out with someone like that is a waste of time.

If more people unconditionally voted for the lesser evil surely that will push them left instead of continuing to creep to the right. There will be as many Manchins as needed to hinder anything even marginally good happening if they win no matter the margin.

If you’re going to do electoralism you have to understand that your vote is the main bargaining chip. The people who stay home do more to push the democrats left than someone going in to vote blue no matter who. The thing pissing me off by the people who are supposedly on the left constantly telling people that they have to vote is that they don't even understand (or pretend not to) electoral politics.

Been arrested 4 times at protests, and one of the main people at my local Food Not Bombs. Also do vote for left or green candidates, although it does nothing in our system.

These people do realise that the US version of first past the post, in the electoral college, means that a sizeable amount of people's votes literally do not matter? They get this right? If you live in a solid red state and vote blue, or vise versa, your vote effectively does not count. And that's before we get to the proportionality of seats assigned by the electoral college, which essentially makes rural landowners votes count multiple times more than people who live in the city, a remnant of the US constitution designed to give slave owners and large landowners more power. The only people whose votes actually count are a minority who live in swing states with a share of the electoral college large enough to influence the result of the election.

Just comparing it to the South African electoral system with proportional representation and one vote = one vote, the US system is backwards and hundreds of years out of date by comparison

To be frank, the way some people here talk about the election makes me think they sometimes forget this as well. You don't need to type 10 paragraphs about how you won't vote for Joe Biden when you live in Arizona lol
