Man he might be a trot that ran on socdem policy but I do love the guy for being on the right side of almost every single topic ever or keeping his mouth firmly shut on topics of uncertainty.
Everyone he hangs out with are trots and he's written for trot papers his whole life and he says the things the trots all say.
It's a matter of association. He's never said it himself, in fact he's kept his specific position within the left very close to his chest and that's probably very right to do if you're a leftist actually aiming to get electoral things done. But you can make some inferences from who he's always with, what he always contributes to and the kinds of hint drops he has always done. He hangs with all the British trots and Brit trots are quite a large group within the UK electoral left within the labour party.
Not big enough of course and they're actively getting purged one by one now though.
Everyone knows Corbyn's much further left than his political position for the elections were. Socdem policy was what he took up as the "furthest viable left" position that could possibly succeed in the UK electoral politics when you're actually genuinely aiming to win but they don't represent his actual position at all.
Haha yea totally agree about those inherent socdem contradictory limitations that I definitely, definitely know all about...
But fr though where can I read more about that tho
A crisis or two and western capitalism will need a very large fish to fry to increase the profits. Either China or Russia. I don't think they can figure out how to accomplish this without whole of the world getting nuked.
Well maybe you could write off the world getting nuked on your tax return as a loss.
My worry is that in the decades to come, as the decline of US empire becomes more and more apparent while China's star only rises, the US might decide the fallout doesn't matter anymore and be willing to risk nuclear war in a last desperate bid to maintain supremacy.
The capitalists don't have a nation, they would move their factories and themselves to hell if that increased their profits. As they move out of the declining US, the chances of US nuking the world in my opinion decrease. That's the good part.
The bad part are all the evengelical Christians trying to bring in the apocalypse by any means necessary, they could trigger MAD out of spite and bring in their armageddon.
Soviet union was sane enough that they didn't nuke the whole world out of spite. It's even magic that all the nukes in various soviet republics didn't get into some terrorist's or corporate hands.
My hate for Anglo culture solidified after they rejected this sweet train man
Pakistan India proxy war with Pakistan being supported by china and India by USA. That's my guess. Can't imagine an outright US China conflict
Problem with that is that both India and Pakistan have nukes. If that one bubbles over I doubt it will stay regional.
