I'm still "nothing will happen" gang, but it would be fucking hilarious if the thing that ends up torpedoing the DNC's credibility (I mean among normies/mainstream) was them blatantly fixing their primary again, but this time to block their own sitting president (who was previously pushed through to block Bernie) from the nomination because his brain has melted so much that capital can't ignore it.

With Bernie, they were able to put the fix in before the primary elections, so it at least had some facade of "democracy" that gave liberals plausible deniability or whatever. But the votes are in for Biden, so the only way to have an alternate candidate is 1) Hillary pushes Biden down the stairs or 2) they just straight up decide to throw away their own primary results at the convention. At least we can all draw pleasure from the hilariously impossible situation they very predictably put themselves in.

I'm scrolling through Bluesky in constant amusement. The libs are screaming that the media (in particular the NYT) is unfair to Biden and they're worried about a Trump victory and Project 2025. I think to myself... Careful for what you wish for - you wanted that old fucker - remember? Biden is becoming unelectable and you're whining about it? You're sowing and now you're reaping. Cry me a fucking river. And life isn't fair. And politics ain't beanbag. And...

My top Pic for funniest outcome: trump wins in a blowout, biden dies the next day.

My top Pic for most likely outcome: kamala Harris carries all 50 states, implements project 2025

kamala Harris carries all 50 states, implements project 2025

"Biden - god rest his soul - had that unfortunate fall down the stairs at the White House." Did that almost sound happy? Was that the tiniest smile on her face when she said that? There's no information about how Biden fell despite the entire DC press core digging and digging to find something - anything. Was she at the residence at the time? Nobody has any answers. And she won't say a word about it.

"I became the nominee and I won. K-hive represent! And the American people have spoken. They chose me. Yes - I'm gonna implement Project 2025. Why?" She laughs a little. "Have you seen America lately? We need to be united." She turns on her folksy voice "We got a patriotism problem. We got a crime problem. We got an illegal problem - yes, I said it. We got a problem with illegals."

"The Supreme Court has given me queenly powers as President of These Glorious United States of America. I'm gonna use them. And the Project gives us the tools we need to..."

It's becoming a torrent. He's losing Democratic congressman with key committee positions, including two of the four Democrats who compromise the Gang of 8.

And Biden is an angry old man. He'll stay in the race just out of spite. I guess the only thing that could get him to drop out is Jill. And god only knows what her POV is or will be.

It looks up in the air for me. Maybe they could buy Jill off or something. They seem more desperate and it's so entertaining for all of us who watched them move so fluidly to take down Bernie four years ago. I need some popcorn.

If the dem machine was smart - they would have been kissing her ass and maintaining a subtle relationship with her even before the election in 2020. If your candidate is a super-old, angry, stubborn person - planning ahead about how to change the situation is wise. If you plan ahead - sucking up can pay dividends. This is not complicated at all.

But I assume the machine is filled with abject morons so they didn't do that. If I'm right - they have no cards to play other than begging and pleading which nearly always tends to be a big loser. Another "bad day" and Jill and her hubby might start to worry about his all important legacy. And the dem machine can play on that.

If the number of people in DC and boldface name dems start asking him to drop out gets to be too big and/or the number grows too fast - that's entwined with legacy too and is a another pressure to drop out. I have no idea what "too big" or "too fast" is. Newsom and Whitmer are local party soldiers focused on 2028.

They won't ask him to drop out unless they know for certain he's already a dead man walking. If the say they have "losing confidence" in him that's surely a sign Biden is toast and he can't remain the nominee.

Whatever happens - this month and next month will be fascinating.

how powerless anyone is to correct any of it.

How dare you! You can vote!

          This is great...

          convention chaos bros

Okay, fine - call me a "bro". I admit that I think it's very bad to have a candidate with their brains leaking out of ears.

Part of me wants this chaos for the sake of vengeance for them not listening to us about stopping right wing populism with left wing populism. It's cathartic and entertaining in that way.

But also part of me is scared they're letting it get so bad and think they can just hole up in their mansions and fundraise off this for another four years. Idk, they may not implement Project 2025 at a national level but, as the national administrative state is dismantled by them, they could implement parts of it in the strongholds where they hold absolute power, including where I live. It's very concerning.

              Part of me... but...

Me too even though I live in a blue state. I'm very worried about the GOP SCOTUS justices and the unwillingness of the Biden and the dems to do anything about them - https://hexbear.net/comment/5099065

At Bluesky the libs have been apeshit for weeks about Project 2025. There's one popular post about it after another. They can't stop talking about it. And it drives me insane they don't mention the obvious thing which is radical court reform and then killing Project 2025. Instead it's endless carping about how people must vote and the important thing is that Biden win. But then what?

The dems window of time where they can keep milking reproductive rights for campaigning and fundraising will eventually end. And if Biden wins - they can do that for Project 2025 too. But eventually the public gets very tired of endless promises to do something. They want action. If they don't get it - they'll stop voting in droves. Yet the dems seem intent that their greed for money in campaigning and fundraising leads them off a electoral cliff due to inaction.

I was talking about it on lemmygrad during the downtime but it's amazing how the political class has totally turned on Biden. I've never seen this before.

Ninja edit. Haha. I knew I was mad about Parkinsonsgate. But I didn't know I was mad-mad. This is a rant.

      ---

I first voted in the 1980s. I've been around a while but I've only been a political junkie the last 10-15 years. Still I've never seen or even heard of anything like this before for a national politician. This is a nightmare and a five-alarm fire. It's extraordinary. It's like something out of a movie. Americans can be really fucking dumb but Biden has an undeniable loser stank about him. Also - the public knows that insiders know far more than we do. Insiders always do. You don't have to be genius to figure that out.

What facts or rumors or gossip do DC insiders know that the public doesn't? My first wild guess - and it's only that - is that Biden has some kind of serious neurological disease. Maybe it's Parkinson's or maybe something else - but if I'm right - he's been diagnosed with it which means there's a prolonged White House cover-up that's still in progress. My second wild guess is that there there's DC gossip about this and dem pols are trying to navigate their own political futures. If I'm right about this too - more and more of them will go into panic mode and fleeing the sinking ship the SS Biden. And it means they don't trust the White House or Biden.

Bluesky is a trip. The libs there have made tons of popular posts that the NYT (etc) are "pushing right-wing talking points" about Parkinson's and Biden. They are posting about it like crazy. The problem is that there's something fucky about Biden and the White House keeps saying there's no fire even though there's billowing smoke. And lib copium is a disgusting use of ableism as a shield. They say stuff like "having Parkinson's is not disqualifying" which is true but highly deceptive. They make it seem that if Biden has been lying about his health it's been for the public weal which is utter nonsense. If he's been lying - it's so he can get reelected and the cover-up sure as fuck is disqualifying.

Funnily enough, the UK just recently and Australia in the past decade have gone through patches of having 5 PMs in 5 years. A system in which the leader’s colleagues can oust them with a majority vote arguably has its advantages for dealing with internally known issues.

Wasn't this the entire case against Trump in the New York trial? That covering up the Stormy Daniels affair was a fraudulent "deceit of the American public"?

I mean it's pretty obvious now it's Parkinsons because of his doctor visits. But like you said they're covering it up and deflecting it away with "oh those are republican talking points".

AOC is so young - she's planning for decades ahead. I actually don't know much of anything about Pressley. Is she basically a shitlib with a few "left" thoughts like maybe the homeless have a right to exist?
