My fucking idiot stepdad convinced me to get a degree in goo science around 2001-ish, saying goo was only going to get more popular after Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, Flubber, etc. etc. THAT was fucking wrong and now I need contingencies in case I get laid off.

Was thinking about trying to invent either a goo-based cereal or maybe goo pest traps, but I don't think I have the funds or wherewithal for that.

I've been a merchant of sludges, slops and slimes for almost thirty years now and I've never seen a market this bad

I blame covid for putting people off phlegm-like substances, and the European energy crisis after the Nordstream bombing making it uneconomical to keep heated the average-sized pool of gruel

      No, tell me more.

Also, while all slime is goo not necessarily all goo is slime. And I remember the endlessly long lectures my favourite prof. would have discussing this.

Not surprised to hear this ngl. The bottom really fell out on goo HARD this year. Seems like dry filth is where the market is going now, unfortunately. I have heard talks of rebranding goo to something like 'sauce' to rebuild excitement, but I don't know. it's a shame, there were real promising advances in goo 20 years ago. Maybe all it needs is a big breakthrough.

How do fellow goo scientists feel about goop? Close but no cigar imho, goop is too viscous, you can't beat classic goo despite what the bear goo market would have you believe

it's too bad there are less real props on movie sets, what evil villain's lair doesn't have some goo floating around somewhere, or alien green blood, alternatively maybe the cosmetics industry is looking for some health/restoration goo? btw I like soggy gooey cereal
