Gonna be honest, I’m not 100% on the idea of living in a place that looks like a the daytime map from a Japanese horror game.

This made me laugh so fucking hard

well you can always go back to adobe bricks if you really want to not destroy the planet also concrete has good heat retention so it kinda sucks on warmer climates but it is kinda complicated like concrete is like worse than steel for nature but just a little bit so its hard to make cheap popular constructions without destroying the planet

I honestly fucking love brutalist architecture, and I'm not an architecture enthusiast or anything, and it's also not because of any I D E O L O G Y, I honestly just think these drab, square, gray blocks of concrete are fucking beautiful. I don't know why. Especially when there's some greenery around it, like in OP's pic.

Brutalism with greenery has ancient forest temple vibes which is cool

I'd kill for a cheap brutalist apartment. Everything near my campus is overpriced 'luxury' living that's the exact fucking same as the building next door.

At least utilise the monotony and repetitiveness to simplify and cut costs.

To the vast majority, it looks fuck ugly. To me, it looks fuck ugly.

It only looks good to a niche group of Architectural enthusiasts and Soviet LARPers. There's a reason why the announcement of a brutalist building is usually met with community ire. It's not because they're unenlightened fools, it's because people don't want a lifeless, concrete husk taking up space in the town square.

lmao @ brutalists calling any other architectural style a monstrosity

At least neoclassical, while boring, isn't depressing as fuck

      Soviet LARPers

This is the sound of someone who has never investigated Yugoslav architecture.

Are we seriously not going to keep doing brutalistposting? I admit, I'm not that big a fan of the style but ffs it's a meme, just go with it!

Corbusier was an ass but the idea of lots of very dense brutalist tower housing near public transit with lots of green space sounds fuckin sick

I hate how Adolf Loss' philosophy took over brutalism. It makes it so depressing.
