I can't decide and I like Bulbasaur but apparently grass types suck in this because all the bosses are flying types ohnoes

Help me decide a starter and a partner. What do you think would suit me?

You're a mudkip kinda owl although Cyndaquil has always been one of my favorites. They're just so fuckin cute

Squirtle is good, and so are Chikorita and Bulbasaur for your starter, bubble and razor leaf having long range is really useful. (I have only played the ds Mystery dungeon games, so I don't know if they've changed that.)

Nice! Apparently it's mostly the same as the DS version aside from slight tweeks and adding mega evolution post game

I remember having any sort of ranged attacks being really useful. Is this one on Switch? I might get it, especially if the roster of pokemon is expanded in the postgame.

It's basically a remake of red/blue rescue team. There is only a couple of new Pokemon added (mostly mega evolutions) otherwise it's mostly the same.

The graphics match the artstyle of the watercolour promotional art which is nice.

Green is the most balanced, and gives you an Electric type for Flying. Blue has some coverage options, Red is the second best because Mudkip, and Yellow has Chikorita, which is an immediate bad choice.

Oh this picture is misleading. You choose any two individual Pokemon. One as your player character and the other as your partner.

      EDIT: changed the picture

If you wanted to go Bulbasaur, Cubone. Ground and Rock type attacks help cover you on Fire, Poison, and Flying, you cover them on Water.

Pikachu would be my second choice, but that's taking a hard counter on only one type you're weak to. The water types could also be a decent choice, but that would depend on if you can reliably teach them an Ice move to ground Flying types.

You're not auto-picking the one that's farting fire out its ass?

torchic is the most owl like as a bird*. but then have bulbasaur because they're the least bird like and you like them. AND it's a clashing type match up so it's like a buddy cop movie.

*psyduck could have the same effect

Doesn't it do the personality test to determine who you are? I got treecko. I wouldn't recommend it. Cubone or Skitty could be fun

My fave team was meowth with mudkip, also pikachu and cubone was strong, if you get a grass type pick something with rock or ice moves for the flying bosses

Have to second the Cubone pick. Cross-linking Bone Club with Bone Club is imo vital to clean boss runs before the post game. Then it's free-for-all. The other choice is totally up to you
