Yeah, all the fans who were like 'No, Toph hates authority she'd never become a police chief' when it's more like Toph just hated when people made her do things. Prime 🐷 material. I don't know if you can give the Korra writers any credit for it either, as they probably thought it was a badass character arc.
Or they're libs, and for them the power structures are not the problem but "Bad People" (TM) misusing their power, so in their view, Toph as a member of the "Good People" (TM) team, made the police force a good thing.
And also Aang is some sort of breeder who wants to repopulate the air nomads even though the entire point of TLA was that the culture was wiped out and that Aang was the only remnant of it. That he also commissioned a huge Ozai like statue of himself.
