My friend finally kicked dope for good but only after years of trying and his second OD. I know there's not much I can say that can compete with the physical need to shoot up again. I don't know you, in fact this is the first post I've noticed of yours since I'm infrequent here, but let me say from one random stranger online that you are loved. Even if you don't see it around you, it's somewhere out there. It's in no certain place or time, has no physical characteristics, or belongs to any one person. It has no evidence of existing, yet it exists because we exist.

We all need love, compassion, and community. This is a trait of our species, a genetic hard coding hundreds of thousands of years in the making. When they are absent, we become depressed and seek to fill the void with anything. Some drink, others gamble, game, overindulge in children books of wizardry, and so on. Your current addiction is physical yes and, as bad as that is, it's also the easiest part to overcome. Once you've kicked it though then you have to solve the problems that lead to addiction.

Your life has meaning, and if you don't think so then know at least it does to me. I'm sure you have lots of love to provide this world. Don't let this capitalist system claim another comrade. Please, go to a facility where you can get physically clean. Then go somewhere outside your network where you can relearn to live and be honest with your feelings and yourself.

I believe in you Rachel! :af-heart:
