I suppose I can finally beat Pokemon Blue and Link's Awakening now.
- Kirby's Block Ball
- Gargoyle's Quest
- Metroid 2
- Bionic Commando
- Wario Land
Some that I haven't seen mentioned yet:
- Final Fantasy Adventure (first Mana game)
- Castlevania II
- Mario's Picross (if you're into picross)
- Kirby's Dream Land 2
- Super Mario Land 2
- Mole Mania (if you like sokobans)
Yes! It's really incredible what they could accomplish on the GB. I wish the other two games were better.
Catrap is a funny little puzzle game. Heiankyo Alien is a port of a really classic maze game.
Surprised to see nobody recommend Mega Man V, which unlike its predecessors is a bespoke entry, very cool.
The Legend of Zelda Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons are both great.
How come they developed for iOS and not Android? I get why you wouldn't port it on mobile at all so you don't have to deal with a touchscreen but I don't see why an open source project would go for the walled garden and neglect the more flexible and cheaper alternative
Donkey Kong 94 - great puzzle platformer
Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru - Japan-only, but has an English patch. A lot of stuff from Link's Awakening was prototyped in this game
Kaeru no Tame
Damn if this were released in English it would have been my whole identity as a kid
There's an English patch so now it can be your whole identity as an adult!
It's really good, though. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes Zelda games. Prince Richard from Link's Awakening is originally from this game.
It's on the Japanese Switch Virtual Console (in Japanese though), too!
Wario Land, especially 2 and 3. 1 is good too, just very different from later entries.
Whoops, forgot that was a gbc game
Oh well, play it anyway it's fantastic
final fantasy legend series, old school saga frontier games
Also check out battle for Olympus, it's like Zelda. Also Sword of Hope 1 and 2.
There's an English translated rom.
I have it on my R4DS cart i think lol i have no idea where that is
