Just threw them under the bus lmao
A marine recruiter came up to me in a mall once to get me to join. We talked a bit, I was waiting for a bus and wanted to be polite, and offhandedly said that he was in the army (wasn't trying to rib him or anything, just didn't know), not the marines. You could see him die inside a little as he corrected me.
The rivalry between different branches of the military is the dumbest fake competition in the world. I think it gives people a meaningless illusion of choice within the military. Let's them pretend that you aren't just a part of one unified death machine.
I call them part of the navy. It pisses them off even more sometimes.
They were originally and are according to the constitution. But during WW I it became obvious they had no reason for existing anymore, so they became a separate, somewhat more specialized army to justify their existence.
That’s what I thought he was saying too. But no, he’s army, the other guys are Air Force.
Tell him you'll join just to see all the cock in the barracks, but he has to post hog first.
Jfc I am way too diplomatic for this site lol. He said he would remove my number. If I keep getting texts I will have to take it up a level.
yes, was thinking this while reading. When i grew up as an early millennial this never happened. And you'd think it would with the imperial invasion of Iraq and all the shit that followed. (literally highschool age in early 2000s)
They had so many volunteers initially, but recruitments been dropping for ages so they're desperate
I just told the guy who called me back in the day (I'm old) that I'm a Mennonite and nobody ever bugged me again. If you want to keep things chill, you can try the pacifist route.
Is that right? I thought the whole point of making the Air Force a separate branch was to change this.
They even said they were from the Army first and then tried to be like "nnooooo not thaaaat army"
Air Force
"Oh so instead of being brave and shooting the other person in the face at "close range," you do it from an A/C'd unit a thousand miles away?"
I kept getting emails from National Guard recruiters. After repeatedly asking to be removed from the list, I started sending pictures from the Kent State Massacre.
Still ignored me and kept sending occasional messages so I blocked, but I hope someone got a taste of my contempt.
