It's all about jobs (and donations) to them. What they don't ever argue though is how you can simply invest into other clean energy sources like the GND proposes, which creates a net positive job gain. But instead, for whatever insane reason they don't want to explain or propose creating new jobs in a clean energy sector if we just simply done away with fracking. It's just multiple levels of dumb. It's so frustrating because these people just pretend you can't create new well paying jobs that will last for decades at the very least. Oh yeah the saving the planet shit? Nah, "Climate Change" is just a buzzword on a checklist you say and never do anything about it.

Calling an aquifer "well water" really inspires confidence in the person who made this graphic

yeah, all my water comes from one. we can't just desalinate to our heart's content, not without fusion, or at least dirt cheap solar and operating facilities at 50% capacity. and even then you'd either have to release that brackish water into the ocean again (which has it's problems) or have a giant landfill of salt somewhere

How about fission? The soviets built at least one nuclear plant that boiled salt water for cooling, which supplied the city with drinking water, other plants include desalination facilities to decrease corrosion.

As someone who works in heavy industry, I can assure you that all things go according to plan and there definitely isn't a tremendous amount if hazardous waste that just gets strewn about all the time because everyone is too tired and frustrated to give a fuck.

doing things close to underground water reserves is famously not a problem at all and could never cause lasting problems in people and it is all worth it as long as get that OIL

Peak liberalism is bragging about contaminating your water supply, ruining the soil, ruining the flora and fauna all because you're too in too deep of the oil and energy companies but it's okay cause it's a woman saying how much she loves it.
