What if there was a clown, but instead of telling jokes he appeared in a bad movie

The mystification is instant. WB makes a Joker movie to cash in on Batman. They get a cheap director and accidentally let him do his own vision. It makes a lot of money. Then they get lazy, decide to let Todd run amok with it, thinking it'll make money regardless. They cheap out on the usual corporate bureaucracy. The movie flops because Todd took it too far for general audiences.

But none of that actually happened, satanic WB executives are destroying western civilization by attacking Western Canon which somehow includes Ledger's Joker.

      which somehow includes Ledger's Joker

So many chuds LARPed that particular Joker during the "edgy quote signatures" phase. Ledger's Joker was rivaled only by Tyler Durden for a source of tryhard chud quoting.

They turned Joker into a got damned CUCK. He used to be badass, "wanna know how I got these scars?!" now he's all like "boohoo we live in a society, please fuck my wife Lady Gaga!"

Making Harley Quinn the abusive partner of the relationship was an unexpected move, though I hope it doesn't do some sort of reverberating invalidation of the previous versions of Harley with "both sides" euphoria.

I've been thinking about how all these freaks' favorites are Jekyll and Hyde movies, and Joker 2 is about that cult of Hyde in a lot of ways.

          I think I see what you mean. Edgelords for decades have been into "I may be a computer toucher with a lanyard but deep inside I'm T W I S T E D" self-identification. bateman-ontological

[WB Execs]: It's so simple... We kill the Batman franchise! It's not about the money, it's about sending a message! joker-che

I’m a certified joker hater, honestly. Shit is just a vapid copy and paste of taxi driver with a different character skin

taxi driver + king of comedy, more specifically. for what it's worth, phillips was always transparent about it being a tribute to scorsese. i prolly only remember this because i watched the two the night before i saw joker & it ended up being extremely jarring agony-turbo

"Transgender is the gender of the bourgeois" is shit I feel like I'm going to unironically read from some InfraRed tier fedposting account, as people with the economic opportunity to make the transition start taking it in droves while people mired in poverty are sold the idea of a Transgender Elite.

I'm sure Warner Brothers spent millions of dollars to make a movie that was guaranteed to flop

You know, just to spite some nerds

it was intended to be a humiliation ritual to destroy the movie's legacy as punishment for it resonating with the "wrong" people

It was a bit like the big middle finger to all the weebs that were getting off to child soldiers and their traumatized lives in Evangelion with the "I'm so fucked up" moment, but unfortunately Anno came back to cash in more and became a lot more LIB for it.

I often find myself being punished for liking the wrong movie by the people who made a movie via a sequel to said movie they made just to humiliate me, personally

in an unrelated story, sometimes I look in the mirror, staring at myself right in both eyes, and repeat, "I am Jesus Christ" 146 times in a row.

I watched "The People's Joker" after hearing it was good. And it was... rough cut. I definitely understand most people wouldn't be down to watch it based on the budget alone. I also thought it was a bit sappy and formulaic in execution. But it resonated with a certain group of people.

Sometimes the movie legit isn't "for you". Not even if it's got your favorite comic book characters in it.
