The grift never ends and Hasan will never stop shitting on unions, communists, and anti-imperialists

For who and what purpose? Nobody knows. Wish he would tell us but that involves reading theory, which he refuses to do

I have critiques of Hasan, like how he spends 90% of his time getting mad about shit in twitch chat when really if twitch chat is anything other than just the n word 20 times in a row it’s above average so it seems pointless to get mad at, and that his political analysis is about ankle deep and even on the bad faith pod he was just completely out of his depth, but that doesn’t really matter. I view his job as being able to introduce gamers to left wing politics using his powers of being terrible at video games and being a big hunk. I don’t think anything I’ve seen from him is anti-union anti-communist or pro-imeperialist.

I don't expect him to do a deep dive into dialectical materialism. His utility is being on a huge platform and pointing people in the right direction (last stream I watched he had 24k viewers). Even if he's just a Bernie level politics lib that's still so much better than anything most people on that platform are being exposed to. We all didn't arrive at our political ideology by chance, there was something or someone that gave us that push. If that's Hasan for some people, so be it, welcome to the club let's make it better.

Absolutely. His presidential debate stream had over 120k. He's a force for good.

That's actually crazy, those are huge numbers. Chapo sitting over here with 5k views, shows you what outreach and understanding your audience can do.

The only thing I've heard him say about unions is that union power is surpressed to the point where Anarcho-Syndicalism is pretty much a meme.

He's a Turkish Communist who's buff and takes over twitch sometimes, you're allowed to critically support him even if you find some things of his don't line up with you. Even if you wouldn't make a political coalition with him, he's a media entertainer that acts as a pipeliner and provides a safe space for communists on twitch.

He's seemed pretty anti imperialist from the stuff I have seen, can't speak to the union or anti communist stuff though. I guess I would need an example. At any rate seems like a good idea to have someone manning the fort on Twitch to get people on board even if tacitly with leftist politics.

I've been watching him for like a year now and the only bad take he's had and refused to backtrack on is some Anti-China related stuff. Which I understand. I was pretty Anti-China not long ago.

I don't watch him super regularly, I just check in occasionally for an hour at a time here or there, so feel free to shout me down. I do remember a few months into the Corona stuff he was applulauding China's efforts and what they had domestically to address it. He did couch it in the "You don't have to love China but you have to admit they are doing this better than us" argument.

Hasan's politics are pretty good from what he presents but basically every time I tune in he's just trying to pretend he doesn't want to have sex with Pokimane or whatever. You can like him you just don't have to go full cringe on it. The fanatic behavior is how ppl like Vaush get created.

Edit: Probably the worst thing I've seen him do is when he went on Chapo and said that Destiny is good which was pretty dumb.
