So in my report, I said it was a rule 6 violation, so you already know why I reported it, don't pretend it was because I like Misandry or imply I'm having a hard time understanding, that feels abusive as hell. It shouldn't be hard to understand this isn't what a typical Dunk Tank post looks like, and I wonder you had consensus of the other admins before you made this post, or you decided this was going to be the comm for public call outs and struggle sessions unilaterally, because that seems like an extremely poorly thought out decision that I have trouble believing the others signed off on.
There was no other appropriate place to post this and it was meant as a public warning against this sort of thing.
If I were to act unilaterally I probably would have just banned this person.
Once again I reiterate there is a zero tolerance policy with regard to misogyny going forward and someone complaining about misandry over a bait post that was clearly crafted to bait the same sort of person that gets their knickers twisted about "misandry" in the badposting comm of all places is an enormous red flag and absolutely strips them of the aforementioned protections granted by the rule that you cited.

can’t go one sentence without breaking the rules you’re so enthusiastic about supporting?
this seems to imply common usage isnt solely women, maybe its an england vs us thing? ive definitely heard old men refer to their own stuff as knickers before
If this is just a warning to give visibility to the new policy, then alright I guess. I just don't want this comm filled with hexbear drama. Perhaps DredgeTank could work in the future? Alternatively, if you just need a place to get an explanation about a sus report or something, you could try PMing the user. I think that would probably be more likely to result in an aforementioned good faith discussion. I would've preferred for the record if you had just asked me in PM if you didn't understand why I reported your thread.
I think there's an issue in doing that on a website - kobold, regardless of their reasons for reporting, isn't necessarily going to see and reply to this for some time, so it's just getting seen by everyone else to be speculated over. I feel like this should be a DM because in terms of modding you're the only one that really needs to hear his reasons in order to decide if he gets banned or not, and if his excuse is as bad as the report you can post the whole thing to the dredge tank for dunking.
I think it would have been more productive to just ban them and then make an announcement about why their behavior was intolerable.
Posting about it in a way that technically violates the rules and then post hoc announcing a new exception to the rules is just gonna result in a bunch of litigation about the specifics of site policy, kinda like what's happening in this thread now.
Couldn't agree more, especially in this case, because of the same reason you mentioned in another comment: it took a long time to come around, and that coming around didn't happen by being coddled.
Is it an idea to make a comm for like community-crit to handle these things, or even bring it up in a self-crit comm? Not just for the current purge, but for any future ones, too. I think continuously having a place where comrades can be brought up who need to self-crit is a fine idea, and encouraging there more intense discussion about how someone specifically is incorrect. Dunk tank has a bit more of a... Dunk attitude in general.
I'm fine if we just dunk on mysoginists, but it seems the admins in general (based solely on this post) want to encourage self-crit when the comrade seems redeemable, and this idea needs a space with the appropriate approach/culture for that. I can imagine that will be useful when we finally do the anti-anti-China purge that is inevitably approaching too.

I honestly think this is a REALLY bad idea. It would probably just descend into petty arguing and daily struggle sessions within a week.
Here's the best form of self-crit, the mods ban you and if you manage not to screw up the same way again on your next alt, I guess you learned your lesson.
Personally I think this post was I'll advised, should have just banned the user.
This is a good suggestion and one that has been floated but never really materialized. In the current situation I felt this couldn't really wait and that someone needed to be used as an example.
In the case of the reporter in the image I felt it worthwhile to subject them to being made an example of because it is the exact sort of mindset that has been an insidious problem and I have no remorse for subjecting them to whatever ridicule that may entail. It took me quite some time to come around on feminism and it didn't come about by people coddling me with kid gloves on the subject.
Fair enough for this post, totally in agreement about no coddling. Deal with me harshly if I commit a gender-crime, I know it's the only way I will learn quickly enough.
But then is the admin team thinking about setting up such a comm? I get the feeling this purge will be pretty large and is a great moment to get such a comm working well. The perfect trial period, I guess.
It wasn't obvious to me. Do you think you can elaborate?
Check the featured post regarding misogyny.
Misandry isn't real for the same reason anti-white racism isn't real. This really should not be hard to understand.

I believe it is more productive to have these things aired publicly so we can get this whole mess sorted as quickly as possible.
