Maybe they didn't see Robocop as Le Badass enough and wanted to be more badass in a blue curtained way that ignored the T-101's character arc in T2.

When cigarette smoking was in decline among young people in the late 90s, the tobacco industry's think tanks came up with an idea: ironically telling hipsters at coffee shops and poetry meetings that cigarettes were bad for them, then offer them cigarettes.

It worked very well, and smoking spiked up to unprecedented levels among that age demographic.

I sometimes wonder if the DARE program now intentionally wants people to do drugs to spite it as a sort of for-profit prison bait.

lol not even close to CAMP. The Campaign Against Marijuana Plantations, something I actively fought in my early years of activism. It was the most expensive inter agency law enforcement operation in history (still is), and guess what motherfucker I joined the war on drugs on the side of drugs and we fucking won.

Of course it's fucking Irvine. Irvine is about 30 minutes away from Anaheim (home of Disneyland) which held a literal Klan rally in 2016.

Something about Disney is a fascism magnet and always has been, going all the way back to when Herr Walt was around.

Irvine Police Department (IPD) is excited to unveil what we believe is the first police Tesla Cybertruck in the nation. The truck will support our Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program and community outreach efforts. While the fully equipped vehicle won’t be used as a patrol car, it can respond to emergencies and assist the community when needed. For over three decades, our DARE officers have driven attention-grabbing and one-of-a-kind vehicles that never fail to turn heads and excite students. IPD believes in the continual education of students and is one of only two DARE programs in the entire state.

IPD passionately seeks unique and innovative ways to connect with our community and the youth of Irvine. Officers on horseback, working with a support K9, or driving a unique vehicle such as the Cybertruck start positive conversations and promote community interaction.

We are thrilled to introduce this vehicle to our community and will be hosting pop-up events in the coming weeks so you can take photos and meet our officers. #inpartnershipwiththecommunity

of course its Orange County. One of the greatest bastions of American fascism.

Also, fun fact, the Irvine Company owns most of the real estate in Irvine and have near monopoly on rents, both residential and commercial. It more or less controls the town. Just a dystopia all around.
