Are liberals that out of touch? Lmao.

It's objectively true that capitalism causes most of the challenges humanity faces today. Several bodies of science have all reached this conclusion. Why the fuck do they think we oppose it so strongly.

Also it's not just "tankies" that know this.

They're just shadowboxing a person that doesn't exist. I saw this tiktok video the other day of someone presenting the left argument to vote for Jill Stein by arguing with himeslf and it started off reasonable enough but they went off in some "well if we get 5% of the vote blah blah blah" nonsense. They have no desire to actually learn.

Are liberals that out of touch?

Yes. Being out-of-touch is practically their main routine now. Like their own pitch: Project Liberal -- they're trying to present it like it's some hot new thing and not the dogshit people have been living with for much of their lifetimes. It's too hard to stomach that their politics have less and less to actually offer anyone.

And, it has to be noted: as much as the liberal worms refuse to attribute any harm to capitalism, they demand we all fall to our knees at its altar and praise capitalism for anything and everything good in life.

I think they are in touch. I think they really, really, really believe that this is the best of all possible worlds. They really think this is as good as it can be and change is not only undesirable, but impossible. Maybe that's why they're so terrified of Trump. Trump is change, Trump is an interruption of their West Wing fantasy. Politics can't be crude or ugly. It must be stern faced compromise, eternal triangulation. You can't have someone loud and crass come in shitting on the rugs and tearing down the curtains to reveal that all of their political drama is an ugly farce. It's unthinkable.

Yes, the dominant global economic system is to blame for the majority of the world's biggest problems. Wild thought, I know.

they're so fucking dumb. "everything is bad because capitalism" is not very specific, but it really is the closest thing you can find for a cause for every problem short of the demiurge. it's the system that governs the entire social sphere for christsake!

joyce-messier sent a paramilitary death squad in to break up a strike and then distanced herself from them when they started threatening to murder civilians

Yes? The world not being perfect is always a result of the system?

Like. What the fuck else would it be?

This is the stupidest fucking meme I've seen in a while.

It does encapsulate their worldview though.

Moralists don't really have beliefs. Sometimes they stumble on one, like on a child's toy left on the carpet. The toy must be put away immediately. And the child reprimanded. Centrism isn't change -- not even incremental change. It is control. Over yourself and the world. Exercise it. Look up at the sky, at the dark shapes of Coalition airships hanging there. Ask yourself: is there something sinister in moralism? And then answer: no. God is in his heaven. Everything is normal on Earth.

Like jesus christ could you better reduce Liberalism to it's bare, raw essence?

      Yeah

I don't expect perfection from anyone really

Someone forgets my napkins when I get take-out, that's not perfect

Genocide and the destruction of the livable space on the planet? That's just plain awful and the people responsible should be beaten with wiffleball bats until they pray for death!

Kurzgezagt level brain. Every existing problem is just a minor problem that exists in its own bubble with no relation to systems whatsoever, and can be solved if we just vote for the smart adults in the room who have no desire to change anything.

That particular bazinga propaganda once claimed that if 99% of humanity was wiped out, that's still a win for that remaining 1% "Team Humanity."

Totally not a potential lowkey genocide apologia argument.

i was thinking more of how liberals often blame everything bad in the world on Putin. But when you ask them how exactly Putin controls the world so tightly it's explained away as brainwashing, misleading internet trolls, or giving a ton of money to Republicans. They think Putin is a sorcerer with endless resources and mental manipulation powers

We've got six years to avoid climate catastrophe and the only countries doing anything at all about it are AES-countries. Somehow this has no relation to capitalism.

I know they do not mention it directly, but it feels related: Liberals love to fetishize nuance, despite being incredible dogmatic. Their idea of "nuance" is supporting the status quo despite everything. The concept of critical support flies over their head. They go into a frothing rage if you dare to suggest Hamas or Iran be anything less than Hitler. Any praise for China must be followed by an exhaustive list of all bad things China has ever done.
