I have literally never upvoted or downvoted someone on Reddit or Chapo, and I'm surprised Chapo kept such a loathsome feature of Reddit. Just respond to stuff or don't, it's fucking pathetic.
We're not Senators in a forum, we're Gladiators in an arena, and we live or die by the lurking crowd 💪
Sounds like a rather pathetic way to live though. I don't even moderate myself in my fundamental opinions while speaking with new co-workers, so why the fuck am I going to worry about downvoters on some free website.
I think it just leads to easily-impressionable people living and breathing somewhat according to Internet points.
We're all slaves to something, whether it's our egos or the opinions of a crowd, the only option is to sink into our Id and become Spartacus
