Cunt has been upvoted here numerous times in the context of Australian slang. You're asking me to argue semantics while you ignore the broader systemic issue on this site of not allowing certain pronouns for certain people.

Kind of like a liberal would, huh? Choosing to argue about civility instead of the issue?

a furry doesn’t tell their boss to refer to them as a catgirl. it’s something they do at a convention or in the bedroom.

Doesn't it make them even less controversial of an issue then?

I have dealt with meaner and more exclusionary people than you and I'm not leaving unless I'm banned. I think you're a bully who enjoys progressive platforms as a means to feel like part of an inner-circle. It's a disgusting mindset to me.

Where did you agree with the end result? I didn't see it, and have only read your immediate reply to me. So if I missed something, my bad.

    who’s fragile here?

I don't know, are you? It isn't me. I just wandered into a conflict others started and I'm confused about why it's a conflict. I've never given a shit about pronouns. Have them or don't, I don't care. But don't use it as a gateway to exclude more people if you begin pronouns as a way to be inclusive.

That's kind of your shortsightedness, though, isn't it? You're already narrowing the definition for what is acceptable, just like a chud would. I'm broadening my definition to allowing anything that isn't inherently harmful, even though I'm complete hetero whitebread and don't find any of it appealing.

the broader community wasn’t happy with their inclusion and there was no user request to back it up. also, it’s generally meant as an identity, not as pronouns so if that’s the way it was meant, it doesn’t belong with the pronouns. given how mad people already are about pronouns, I’d prefer we stuck to a set that are actually used as pronouns so no one gets in the habit of ignoring anyone’s.

It sounds like the broader community of Chapo.chat is kind of prejudiced then and just as susceptible to normie stigmas. I'm just going to be honest: I think furry stuff is kind of gross. But it doesn't hurt anyone, so why should I not respect them the same as I respect trans people? Or gay people? What's different in the end when it comes to just allowing a human being to be happy? They don't have to care about my personal feelings, and I don't have to be furry if I don't like it.

Can you please, for the love of God, try explaining to someone who is genuinely asking instead of these little cutesy one-liners?

Look at my post history, I've been here almost half a year. I am not a TERF or a chud or some bad-faith arguer. There are genuine furries on the site I've seen, so why not allow their pronouns? Who are you harming by accepting this?

I didn't start the argument, so why does it exist here? I've never had an issue with pronouns, I'm just asking why anyone's pronouns can't be respected so long as they're not harming others.

Thanks for your argument. Are you eager for an identity to cling to and want to go with the prevailing opinion here, or do you have a valid reason against the point I'm making? Because I'm asking sincerely and so far am failing to see a counterargument to what I consider a glaring hypocrisy in this community.

Then why not include them? Again, furries don't harm anyone and it's their identity. I'm asking genuinely, though I'm extremely cis and vanilla and don't really venture into these communities much.

The only explanation I can think of is that this community is mindful of some stigmas while encouraging other stigmas, like hypocrites.

That's what I'm genuinely asking. Someone could enlighten me a lot by simply explaining, but instead I'm just getting drive-by downvotes. It's such a stupid fucking hivemind feature of a website for people that base their entire identity around going against harmful norms.

What are the cat-based preferential pronouns? They sound like furries to me, and lately I've seen furries on the main page posting comics and asking for space.

A counterargument could be TERF-minded people trying to be "clever" by provoking cat-based pronouns, though that's something that could be explained to me.

I feel the community is largely poisonous.

It's honestly appearing this way to me and it feels like this site is doomed to fail in a series of byzantine flails for social capital on a website that's only popular to a certain niche of person.

We're arguing about pronouns now and the website itself is named after a podcast that most users deem not even that progressive, despite the identity being linked entirely to it in brand name.

I feel like tribal conservatives read this site and just laugh. Nobody here knows how to be taken seriously or go about anything despite having the only non-harmful political views, which in itself is a large victory but not the victory.

We should be allowing furry pronouns though as it's a lifestyle/sexual identity that doesn't harm others. This is the cat-based one, correct? I admit I'm not familiar with the struggle session and am assuming, so I could be wrong. If trans people get a safe environment, so should furries, as neither inherently harm anyone and allowing them a secure platform only adds to their happiness while not subtracting from anyone else's.

I agree with not allowing TERFs much breathing room here, as they lead to accepting chuds or just the typical status-quo bullshit. There's enough of that. I sometimes feel annoyed by social identity, but allowing everyone their own corner isn't harmful, and allowing people with status-quo (damaging) economic views steeped in ignorance and capitalistic propaganda is inherently damaging, so the math is a no-brainer to me.

EDIT: Downvoted. What is different about furries versus trans? Why not allow both their own happiness? Explain it to a cis whitebread normie heterosexual guy who's completely vanilla in his kinks, because I'm struggling to understand here.

This is what gets me about social identity, you're always pandering to some dogma. And yet nobody can accept a universal creed of allowing any free reign so long as that person doesn't contribute to a net harm in the world. There is no discussion on identity politics without stigma, even on this website.

EDIT 2: MAKE A FUCKING ARGUMENT INSTEAD OF DOWNVOTING YOU STUPID CUNT. FUCK ME.

Maybe you're just too stupid and you're not able to articulate your reply? If so, I'm sorry.
