I think we have a general path forward based on community feedback. "We see you, we hear you!"

I went ahead and unpinned the old post. I'm pinning this one for now and will edit this post when I wake up from eepy time. I had a very mid week and have no particular alarm set so be on look out. Love y'all and I'm amped for my first announcement post since coming back. :)

I think there's a bit of a quiet right now. Last thing I heard was that we keep the two new comms and that's it, which seems odd since we were encouraged to make new names for the comms. Since then there's also happened some drama that has made me - and it seems a lot of other users - distrustful with some of the mods. I really feel like there needs to be some reckoning with their behaviour for things to reach some sort of calm equilibrium.

This has been a long time coming in a lot of ways and it sucks and I'm really sad carcosa felt like it was their fault, when it really really wasn't. Just moving on now will just lead to this same situation occuring again in a month when we get the next update about "cracking down on chauvinism" or whatever other bs those dinguses manage to cook up.

Yeah I hear you. It sucks that Carcosa felt they needed to make that move. Even if the majority of complaints weren't about them (which is how I saw it), it has to be hard to not take it personally. But I was stuck to the posts yesterday and it all did feel super sketchy and disrespectful as a lot of people pointed out.

So I agree that moving on in the sense of forgetting about it is not the move and why I think trying to be productive and have a real discussion on creating accountability/transparency between mods and users is super important. I really liked your ideas (were they yours? Lol) about how that can be done. Maybe that should come sooner rather than later, because it shouldn't just fall to the wayside. If mods are wanting to turn this into a "serious revolutionary online space" or whatever, that needs to be practiced and they need to act accordingly otherwise what's the point?

I also think that the new comms, outside of the drama, just don't really make sense and split hairs too much. I get the feeling others feel similarly, so starting fresh with a new comm created with user input would be the best tack. Venting frustrations is super important, but up to a point. It's all very fresh and emotional rn so I feel that it might not be productive to pivot in the moment. But yeah just my 2 cents

        I agree on all points!
I mean I suggested some things, but I know other people have suggested some things as well, so I don't know if it's my things or others things.
If it's my things, then I want royalties
