"We simplified this" aka "thats just a render none of this is real or will ever be"
What if, to transport multiple passengers traveling to common locations along a "line," we connected several teslas together and had them run on a sort of "track?" When passengers got to their desire destination, the Tesla "Train" would stop, allowing passengers to disembark.
This is way more profound than it sounds.
i fucking love trains. always have. i will always love trains. wooh wooh!
This is the video I send people who tell me Musk is a genius. It doesn't work, but I still do it.
Saw you post this recently - having watched this, is Elon saying they're not even going to have the "commuter" pods that can fit several people?? That it's literally just Teslas in tunnels?
He has said that there would be, and is now saying that maybe there won't be since Tesla doesn't make those. Since this is "fucking magic" like the guy explains in the video, elon isn't subjected to the bounds of reality so he can pretty much make it up as he goes along.
the elevator thing is the dumbest part, it would create a gigantic bottleneck if there was enough traffic and then what is the point?
Just buy a Tesla? Elon can't stop there. We're heading for Infrastructure as a service baby. Buy a Tesla HyperLoop subscription. It's a steal at only $30/month.
aint no sith ever used the force to fudge a die roll so they could wager on a childs participation in a bloodsport as a means to take the contract of a slave and indoctrinate them into their religion.
It genuinely would be which is why it would probably be 20x that price
How funny would it be if the next version is just a normal highway but for Teslas only. Then he gets a huge DOT contract to build and maintain highways in CA or something.
People are claiming this will never happen, but I think it will. It won't be available to most people, but I think the rich are pretty interested in a more efficient way of transporting their child sex slaves around to their ceremonies sacraficing the children to Moloch.
People are claiming this will never happen, but I think it will.
This will be one of those projects that gets $10B to begin construction, creates an additional $20B in damage to the surrounding community, is suspended indefinitely and then turns into a "This is what happens when you do a Communism!" data point for conservatives into the subsequent decade.
It's not more efficient but it does keep them away from the peasants.
not even two hundred years from now there will be conspiracy theories that there are tunnels on Mars with slaves and magical tech, for some reason... if there's anyone on earth in that alt future.
I think that there will be some place in the US ass backwards enough to fund a stretch of it, and it will be one of those things that tech historians will go back and marvel at in 50 years.
Yeah, people have already built loads of extremely expensive, extremely low-capacity, "high tech" transportation systems, and many of them started off as an absurdly unrealistic artist's impression before being gradually revised until they were basically a pretty standard monorail or cable car or busway or something.
If he perseveres with this long enough, I'm sure he'll eventually build something. It will probably end up just being a subway with weird angles and metallic paint everywhere.
Except monorails are cheap mass transit.
This is right at the intersection of stupid and slow.
There's literally no good reason all of that can't just be done with helicopters is the thing.
A sustainable future will require a change in how we take long-distance trips, but Musk has scuttled attempts to build high-speed rail to keep us in cars. Ashlee Vance has shown how the main ambition of Musk’s Hyperloop proposal, an unproven form of transportation using vacuum tubes to go long distances at high speeds, was to get California’s proposed high-speed rail system canceled:
"Musk had dished out the Hyperloop proposal just to make the public and legislators rethink the high-speed train. He didn’t actually intend to build the thing. With any luck, the high-speed rail would be canceled. Musk said as much to me during a series of e-mails and phone calls leading up to the announcement."
thank you evilgiraffemonkey. there are plenty of real world examples of these people just stealing our money for vanity projects, we don't need photo-real advertisements for more. :Care-Comrade:
I am once again asking Chapos to link the dang tweet https://twitter.com/Kristennetten/status/1316120294566682625
It's getting financed by the Pentagon as a weapons system.
/s - unless...
My doodoo ass is just shitting in the toilet, which is way more profound than it sounds.
Entrepre-manure of the Year. Of America. Of Uranus! Give him money!
I still want to know what he thinks is going to happen after his shitty ai crashes a bunch of cars going way too fast for tiny underground tunnels.
thats why they go slower than a subway car. It makes absolutely no sense.
are they on rails or something? cause they're teslas, if the driver hits the gas (and let's be honest, those dipshits will hit the gas), they'll go vroom
I think the teslas need special guide wheels like buses that have guided lanes, and autopilot takes over. I don't think any tesla driver would be able to pilot within those thin margins.
"Listen, I have a brilliant plan: we could tie together the cars so that there is less risk of them colliding with each other!"
"and if we replace the wheels with steel and raise the tracks, we can reduce the risk of blowing out tires, while everything can move faster."
To be fair the Teslas probably won't need to do any loop-de-loops so they don't need state-of-the-art rollercoaster technology.
I've said it a bunch of times in twitter:
This is just Musk dreams of embracing a luxury C.H.U.D. Lifestyle.
