    I would even go so far as to say that yeah, I'm sure there were some guys who joined out of a sense of duty to "defend their home", some who were coerced, and some who simply had nowhere else to go. And even if, in a vaccum, these subjective motivations can be understandable and relatable, all that shit goes out the window when they materially supported a genocidal slave empire.

      Motherfucker was in South Carolina. Not even Alabama or some deep south state where he couldn't just hop the boarder. He absolutely had a choice. It wasn't uncommon for families in the boarder states to be split as siblings chose sides.
