Not people in migrant detention camps.

    Or federal death row.

Or people with federal marijuana charges.

    Or Julian Assange.

    But Liz fucking Cheney

Can't cancel student debt or medical debt.

Can't do anything for the wrongfully accused.

But the daughter of a war criminal is cool.

So...these people all did shit they need a pardon for?

They already torched the brand, they knew 2 months ago they weren't winning over any republicans but kept digging in with the Cheneys and genocide denial.

Fauci is funny, he definitely was not perfect. Would drive people nuts, not that I seriously expect them to draw into focus any of Tump's first term handling of COVID.

How do I sign up for one?

I don't know but a big "Biden Forever!" tattoo would probably help a lot. You could lie and say you got it when Biden was vice president. If they like the cut of your jib - they won't check.

Supreme Court (6-3): Presidents whose last name begins with a B cannot give pardons.

I did ~10 seconds of googling...

Yes, a president can pardon someone for crimes they haven’t actually been charged with

The Constitution gives the president the power to pardon someone before they are indicted, convicted or sentenced for a federal offense against the United States.

I was going to read the article but the title and sub-header explained things so well - it killed my desire. If you read it - please share anything worth sharing.

RION covered the big thing, but another detail that might be worth sharing is that broad pardons like the one Hunter got are quite rare, with Nixon really being the most recent example. More permissive than any other pardon Biden's given, and likely will give.

Biden not pre-emptively pardoning anyone who tries to kill Trump shows that he's just not serious.

He could even just announce he'd pardon for that. But it seems quite obvious that the Dems don't really intend on obstructing Trump, Biden even said he'll attend the Trump inauguration.

Ex Parte Garland established that a pardon "may be exercised at any time after [the offense's] commission, either before legal proceedings are taken or during their pendency or after conviction and judgment."

I would take that to mean future crimes aren't pardonable, unfortunately

Nixon was never charged, or even impeached. But Ford gave him a pardon for everything he could've done as president.

He said he'd never pardon Hunter yet he did. More importantly - it's highly embarrassing to the dems and very damaging to American prestige if Trump creates show trials including the biggest dem faves. And before the trials even begin - Trump might say they gonna be found guilty and put it Gitmo.

I don't think a Biden pardon would really get in the way of what are intentionally show trials.

But I also don't really think Trump would go after anyone with status. If we're doing a kangaroo court, it's going to be another Teri Shavio situation. The GOP congealing around a person you've never heard of to make a giant stink, while the media swarms like flies on shit.

A show trial needs a guilty verdict and punishment. If Cheney et al are pardoned I think that might even nullify Trump's immunity and the fact that criminal law doesn't apply to him.

Fauci has to admit that he did Covid before accepting the pardon
