I am a tech worker and my first tech job was 8 dollars an hour, from a boss that would write bad checks and I would find out at the ATM when I would go to deposit them. Fun times (not). Also fuck me for busting my ass and struggling every day to try and make more money so I can actually afford things like food and a place to live right? What should I do instead, just starve? Yeah the system is fucked and all I can do is help organize in my local community, partake in events and help build class consciousness with my fellow workers so we can overthrow this corrupt shit.

To suggest that a programmer/engineer exists in a vacuum within their corporate spaces and has no material effect on the life of anyone else is offensive.
