    "it's disturbing how people lose their humanity when hiding behind their keyboards" says the man who regularly denies people life saving medical treatment while hiding behind his keyboard. I dare you to sit in a room with these parents when you tell them their child will continue to suffer because you want to afford another house.

    One anonymous lone gunman is going to force more change to the health insurance industry than 20 years of empty Democratic campaign promises.

    Parents will freak out if you don't give their child a glass of water when they're thirsty or don't give them life saving treatment when they're dying.

    Comes from this article

    They really try to downplay how people feel about this

    In a further sign of barbs lobbed at UnitedHealth, a statement posted on the Minnesota-based group’s Facebook page about Thompson’s killing garnered 53,000 laughing “emojis”. While the posts on social media represent an extreme fringe, they underscore a broad sense of malaise in the country over the health system

    My ultra conservative, offline coworkers all agree bozo had it coming

    This dipshit also spends the entire article conflating 'insurance companies' with 'healthcare industry' like NO bitch, nobody fucking thinks of fucking Cigna when they think of healthcare.

    From elsewhere: The United Nations International Standard Industrial Classification (ISIC) categorizes the healthcare industry as generally consisting of:

    Hospital activities;
    Medical and dental practice activities;
    "Other human health activities".

    Fucking leeches want to sound so wholesome

    This is also the paragraph following the comments in the pic

    Matt Eyles, a healthcare industry veteran who previously ran America’s Health Insurance Plans, an industry body of which UnitedHealth is not a part, said most health insurance executives are deeply aware of the challenges patients face. He said: “We’ve all had friends or family who’ve gone through terrible health issues, and sometimes it can be frustrating to navigate the healthcare system and deal with health insurance.”

    Half the article is just him moaning about how poorly they're all treated

      listen, I understand your pain. I was sad too when I had to deny medical care to my own children but you know what, they've got real character now

    What's most disturbing is how corproate murderers and tourturers for profit can hide behind a pandoras box of paperwork, red tape, ivory towers, legalese and corruption and lose their humanity.

    I read a book called The Gone Away World and it wasn't my favourite or particularly good, but near the beginning the passages about the Company Man whos soul slowly gets eaten by the Company and profit in general every time they make a decision against humanity or solidarity and for profit has stayed with me. Inch by inch, doing that job is going to turn you into what I'll facilely say is a Bad Person

    If I was inclined to give one former Cigna executive tips, I would tell them that if they think this is the moment to go public with what they find "most disturbing", whatever that is, then one former Cigna executive may have misread the public mood slightly.
